ITK38 Thermal Printer - Paper Won't Retract

Normal operation involves the printed paper being retraced if it is not grabbed within 15 seconds. If this does not occur, use the below fixes. 

 

Option 1 should work most of the time. If option 1 does not work continue to Option 2. When you are finished, you will want to Exit out of the Printer Properties then return to the Printer Properties to verify the Configured settings did not revert to Defaults.

 

Force the settings to stick ( Option 1 )

1. Login to TIPSAdmin

2. Access ITK38 printer through the install folder on the desktop or through Control Panel.

3. Right click on the ITK38 icon and select Printer Properties

4. When the Dialog Box opens, click on the Transport Presenter tab at the top

5. Click the "Lock" option show it shows that it is "Unlock"

6. Select "Yes" on the pop up window

7. Select the General tab

8. Run a test print

9. Wait 15 seconds for retraction

10. Select the Transport Presenter tab 

11. Click "Unlock" option show it says "Lock"

 

 

Remove, Reinstall and Configure Printer ( Option 2 )

1. Login to TIPSAdmin

2. Access Printers and Devices through the Control panel or Windows Settings

3. Right click to uninstall the ITK38 Thermal Printer

4. Disconnect Printer power cable for 30 seconds. ( Do not use the power switch )

5. Reconnect the Printer power cable

6. Install the ITK38 printer 

7. Right click on the ITK38 icon and select Printer Properties 

8. When the Dialog Box opens, click on the Transport Presenter tab at the top 

9. Under "Dispose Function" header click "Disposing"

10. Under "Present Document and..." Select "Hold"

11. Under "Document Not Taken Action/Timing" header use the drop down menu and select the option "Wait 15 Sec Beep Then Dispose and Purge"

12. Click "Unlock" so it says "Lock"

13. Select Apply 

14. Click "Lock" so it says "Unlock" 

15. Select "Yes" on the pop up window

16. Select the General tab

17. Run a test print

18. Wait 15 seconds for retraction

19. Select the Transport Presenter tab 

20. Click "Unlock" option show it says "Lock"
